Jo,

I'm sure it will wind up on a sideboard as a display piece, what a waste , it would look wonderful on any rustic kitchen table full of fruit.

We're used to you showing us your artistic turnings, this is functional, but beyond that, it's inherent organic form makes it especially beautiful.

Great looking bowl Jo,I always love these type of turning as they always look a little different from the norm and its great fun turning nobbley old bit of root etc; and getting a good result without it flying to pieces in in the turning process, regards,

Eric.
welcome to my woodturning world

Nice looking bowl Jo, Olvie wood really is stunning. Also quite a big-un at nearly Ø18", I'm interested to know your manufacturing method - did you rough turn and dry, and what finish have you used.

I really enjoy using olive, but have found drying it quite tricky.

Tom.

Thanks Tom. The wood was dry as I got it. Less then 10%.

Hi Jo

Stunning piece, i think it's for the display cabinet!
Would look nice on my coffe table as well as a functional centrepiece.
Lovely timber, nicely turned and an excellent finish.

Regards
Rod

Thanks to you Rod, but not quite as center piece, next to two centimeters. I love the eccentric.
