« on: November 02, 2014, 08:48:34 PM »
Hi All,
This burr oak piece is 480 x 250 mm and 30 mm deep.
It was turn on 3 centres using a face plate.
The fish is lemon oil and buffed using fine paste wax.

Nature's wild design! A lovely piece, Ken, and a great idea to go for the multiple concaves.

Not only beautiful but useful to. I can just see that on my hall table.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

That is a stunning piece of Burr, the three bowls make a great use of its irregular shape,

Certainly one to be proud of.

Hi All
Thanks for the comments
I made an error with the dimensions- should have been 480 x 400 - should have gone to Spec Savers!!
