Here is a recent teapot l made from Pear. Believe it or not I don't own a Pyrography unit but l do own a dentist drill which is how l engraved the bare winter trees, it’s not just for piecing any more  ;)  l did my best to imitate the low sun and long shadows of winter solace in the photo. Michael

Hello Michael....a fascinating direction that you've wandered into, and what a lovely first display. Great idea to use the dentist drill in this way, and it's certainly very effective. The silhouettes of the trees are no less a quality than we would expect from the Gibson stable, but good to know that there was always more than one star horse! It would be great to see a close-up of the engraving!
Thanks for sharing....Les

That looks very 'Royal Doulton' Michael.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Michael,

I've always admired your ability to make every teapot unique, but the shape of this one is (for me) probably the most appealing of those you've posted so far.

I'd like to say the simplicity of the decoration really lifts it but somehow the word 'simplicity' would understate the level of work you've had to achieve to create this.

Name the Tree's;

First Picture.
Centre Tree - Poplar (I think)
Right Hand Tree, Willow
