I'm getting twisted

Here are my latest turnings,
The first is 14X5 1/2, Mixed wood, Sycamore, Almond,Cherry and Blackwood
The second is 10X 5 1/2 Sycamore It will be my wifes Easter egg I will fill it with sweets (Wrapped) The entry is through the egg base.

I cannot help but wonder just how long you spent making that little lot....so hats off to you for all the effort involved. I'm sure that your wife will love it.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Nice work John I know how long these take.

I've been trying to make them for the last month or so. Getting the bines all the same size is my failure at the moment.

I like your pieces the idea of leaving a couple of solid panels works really well, I think that the finial spiral top looks a bit big it takes my eye away from the main form.

I love the idea of making one and filling it with sweets for Easter that's an idea I'm going to try and copy for my wife, back to the power rasp  :)

I like the easter egg. I made the mistake of showing my wife and now she wants one. Don't know where I'd start haha.  :D

Not quite a Faberge egg but I have no doubt it will be received as willingly and loved as much. You've done yourself proud and earned a brownie point (or two) with these.
