Red Gum spirals
« on: July 24, 2016, 06:32:31 AM »
As the titles says its Red Gum harvested form an old stump at the back of a local chuch.
Rather small at 10cm approx in dia, finished with nitrocellulose 8 coats I think, lost count as high humidity stopped the process several times

This lovely little pot is typical of the excellent quality of your work, Hughie....I particularly like the bulbous appearance of the spirals.

Hughie,

back to your spiral forms but no less beautiful to look at. The many coats of nitrocellulose gives it a very wet and organic look.

Though how you make something only 10cm in dia look so much more escapes me.

Its probably close to 11 cm I just round it out to the nearest :) The wet look is what the recipient wanted and she has seen the post and gave the thumbs up.
As to size etc I think its the spirals and keeping them bulbous on a small dia. Thanks for the comment.
