Re-photo'd laburnum

Hopefully better images of the work to give a better idea of what it's like.

Thank you both. Iy will be hanging about for a while now while we try and decide a good way or mounting it. That can make or break a piece IMHO.

Yes totally agree, the base/mounting is as important as the piece itself.

Thank you all again. Got an idea I'm experimenting with at the moment. If happy with it I'll get a photo up tomorrow.

Impatient LOL. OK I have a trial picture but have since tried it lightly differently which I'll photo tomorrow as it looks much better. I made a pewter dish for the t light or candle but have now dropped that a bit lower than in this photo so the candle isn't immediately visible. It has a really lovely glow from the inside. I left it lit for 4 hours whilst in attendance as I wanted to check the safety and it was fine, heat goes straight up so the wood was only just warm at the end of the period. The base is ebonised sapele ('orrible boring wood but ideal for this as it becomes neutral not detracting from the laburnum. As said before this is all trial at the moment so may change totally. )

Well who else would have thought of that.

Really effective design,

Well done Pete and (I'm guessing) Mo. I reckon you had an input there also.

Thank you both. Mo approved LOL. I'll get a better photo today with the candle instead of the t light. Perhaps take a phorto of the bits, it doesn't get fixed until we are totally happy with it.

Any more 'scrap wood' Brian give me a shout  ;D
