There's a lot about this that I like. The 'saggy' shape looks relaxed and comfortable, and is echoed by the shape of the lower half of the finial. I also like the way that the finial/lid sits on the top of the hollow form; it really works well. What tops it all, for me, is the colour and the apparent texture, it really brings the shape to life. However, there is one element that doesn't work for me, and that's the upper half of the finial. I feel that it's too straight over its top half, and could therefore have doen with being a bit shorter, or thinner, to keep the curve flowing.
All in all, a really good first attempt at colouring.

Hello Wider, I feel that the finial should be a lot shorter, at the moment it takes the eye away from the onion shape of the base. nice idea though.

thank you for your comments. the better half has collard this for her self. And as you have commented on the finial she has said the same so need to make a shorter finial for it.

I really like the whole sweep of the curve, from the top of the finial to the waist of the pot.

Not too sure about the pointer on top of the finial, that could be a little better shaped but that is only a very small bit of the whole thing.

The colouring (the reason for the post) really works well, very effective.
