pagoda tree needs saving from the chipper
« on: September 05, 2018, 10:36:52 PM »
so far as i know this tree is not for sale but if it needs to go to the for sale section then please move it.

a large pagoda tree very near me is coming down and i wish to save it from the chipper as it's a lovely timber that dries well.

it's about 24" at the base and there is 6-7' of initial trunk but an old union makes it wonky after that. there are lots of branches that are 12-14" so would be perfect for half logs for nest of bowls.

located in Burnham.

here is a rough turned nest i made and will soon be finishing off.

even the pith did not split which is really odd.

he mother bowl has pva on it hence the colour.

it turns great and is a top notch timber.
