End of an era
« on: February 21, 2019, 11:15:43 AM »
A sad day for me today, it was my last visit to the timber merchants Oscar Windebank at Box (near Bath) who have decided to shut up shop. Nothing to do with Brexit as this has been on the cards for years. But this is a company that I have used since I was 14 years old. When I had my own joinery and furniture company they were my main supplier of hard wood.It was always top quality and I was allowed to go and sort through the stacks for the boards I preferred. Now I have to find another supplier in the west country but I think I will struggle to find one such as Oscars again.

Bummer. I have also been going to one just over from Marlborough, Tylers hardwoods. Pretty accomodating and have some nice stock mainly UK woods.
