Just a simple Yew Bowl
« on: February 25, 2019, 07:09:02 PM »
Started this bowl some time ago when I visited Walnut Les's He had some yew and I rough turned this then and stuck it in the rough turned bowl pile when I got home. I have been busy doing other bits and pieces and just fancied turning something quick. This was the result even though the turning was quick the drying of the oil finish took a week before I could buff it today.
The end result is a little Yew bowl of 7 1/2" X 3"

Nothing wrong with this bowl, it's in 'Mint' condition. Just one hole through it...

Okay, you can throw something at me one day for that awful joke.

But I do like this sort of thing, the bark, the uneven natural edge section and even the hole all work to say, I was once a piece of living tree that did my own thing.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!

Thank you, Bryan I will forgive you for the Polo pune. I try not to just discard a piece just because it has inclusions in it as it makes for an interesting piece
