Segmented JR Victor pen

A segmented Gold plated JR Victor pen, using woods, Purple Heart, Blackwood and Osage Orange, finished with friction polish and lightly waxed.

HI Jim, I like your pens very much is it difficult to do the segmenting? do you glue it up into a pen blank form then drill & Turn ?

Hi John,

Like all turning once you have done it a few times it does become easier ...   :o

Once i have glued the pieces of wood together as square as possible so i have as little sanding as possible, then slice the blank on the bandsaw after it has been drilled first of course, i then glue them onto a tube then compress the blank either in a clamp or the vice till dried ...
