A couple of chrome plated Barrons
« on: December 29, 2012, 11:16:53 AM »
A chrome plated Baron Rollerball pen made with Snakewood, finished with CA and polished with Huts, Ultra Gloss ...

A Chrome plated Barron using Amboyna burl with a Celtic Cross in the top barrel. The material used for the Celtic Cross is black plastic and a Coca Cola can, finised with friction polish and lightly waxed.

Black plastic and Coca Cola can! - what glue do use to hold that lot together. And do you scrape the paint off the can first?

I do like the effect of the Celtic Cross though.

Hi mate,

The glue used was medium CA, for all the gluing ... No i didn't scrape of the paint, but what i did do was rub both the plastic and the tin with a fine piece of sandpaper, just enough to scratch them ...  8)

Hi Tony, all the cuts were made on the bandsaw using a jig for the angles, nothing special really ...  ;)
