Lathe Upgrade

malcy:
I would agree that if you are getting a new lathe a variable speed one is a must. I upgraded with an Axminster AWVSWL1200 a year ago, and I wouldn't be without the variable speed now at all. I would certainly recommend the Axminster lathes. My only niggle with the one I have is that when you switch on to start it there is a short delay before it starts to turn. I get around this by using the speed control to stop and start it. Hope this helps. Malcolm.

Thanks all, ordered the Axminster one, it arrived yesterday, but they have no stands in stock and my bench isn't really that sturdy, may have a little wait
