Oak wall sculpture

Its been a long time since my last post on the gallery
This piece is turned o 3 centre from an oak board 20 mm thick
Colouring by spirit stain and edges scorched
Finish lemon oil and fine wax paste polish and scorched areas sealed with a laquer spray.
Size 700x350mm

I'm really wishing this photo was bigger - any chance of another pic being posted please Ken.

I know it's only an impression, but I'm seeing Mandeville (Olympic mascot) here.

Ken, although not much bigger the image is crisper.

I am fascinated by these sorts of turnings, like many of us I'm good with the Round and Brown, I even happily do the Round and Coloured but the imagination to see a few simple turned circles and a bit of colour on an irregular slice of wood (or even a simple board of wood) and make it into something like this evades me.

Thank you for posting such an excellent example.

Should one say cute or maybe excellent piece for Valentine's day, well thought out form and nicely finished.

Thanks for the comments, I enjoy making these type of pieces.
Sorry about the small photo size seem to be having an issue with a new download program so I will have another atempt below.
