First effort update

Finished sanding with 600 grit and three coats of friction polish , very please with the effort , learnt a lot which is all its about :)

It really has a beautiful colour and comparing it to your earlier post the finish is very good.

I think it will sit well as a piece to reflect on.

Mike, you have brought out the beauty of the wood, could it be a fruit wood of some kind, then it was dark to start with .. hum ..  interesting.

I have been back to the place from where i brought the wood , and the guy remembered the piece well but could not remember where it came from , so its going to remain a mystery I think,

It was exceptional hard and has a very weird feel to it , very non wood like its hard to explain.

Makes a good talking point thou
