Not put a piece in the gallery for a while so here's one made last week.
Pau Amarillo and Wenge Pot,pyrographed and textured. 3" wide  and about 7" tall.
Sorry about the photo quality.

nice pot,the design work is great and the finial, you don`t see many that shape anymore, isn`t it strange how 2 pics of the same piece can look so different ,is one with the flash and one without,as I noticed when taking pics that can affect the colour like this, regards,

Eric.

John,

I get a native American feeling from these pictures (Southern States area) certainly from the decoration. The set-in lid effect works with that feeling and the knob/finial finishes the whole thing for me.

Very attractive work.

John,  You may have pass the point of R&B ...  Stunning, yes the color too....  the thinking cap (bowler) is working and this is an excellent form, every detail gells and pull it together.

Thanks for you comments guys,
I was experimenting with a spoon bit that I made for the pyrograph and had mixed success so next time I will use a razor shaped wire to see if I can burn it cleaner and straighter (hence the shapes). I did think about rounding off the edges of the finial but as eveything else was angular I left it as it was.
