I`ve been making this piece since before xmas,as theres been a few hold ups due to inner flexydrive cable busting and the weather, its made up of 9 segments, the woods used are,Mulberry,False Acacia,Brown Oak,Elm,Ash,Cherry and Burr Oak.the base is Brown Oak 6 3/4" across, first layer is Ash 13" across,2nd layer 8" across,1st funnel is 3 1/2" across, top funnel is 2 5/8" across, and the finial/umbrella is 2 3/8" across.the overall height is 12 1/2".each layer was turned and then pierced, the 2 bottom layers were thinned to a design before being pierced and then painted, the top 3 bits just turned thin then pierced the cherry was dyed with light blue, looked horrible so went over it with purple, looks ok now,oh,this was pierced with the Proxon mill/drill bits and the Dura Frit burrs/cutters I did a review on,now for the pics, regards, Eric.
psthe base went bang,so had to infill fill brass powder and super glue.
