roywathen:
I have just purchased a secondhand Robert sorby RS2 lathe I am having difficulty in working out what the spindle thread is, any advice appreciated regards roy wathen
Bryan Milham:
Most Sorby's were 25mm x 2mm, the same as the Avon Tyme (not cub) machines. However I cannot state that all were or that your machine is.
Have you rung Sorby themselves to see what they say?
woodndesign:
Hi Roy, As Bryan has indicated contact Robert Sorby ... http://www.robert-sorby.co.uk/ ... A quick look and M25x2 was a size for some RS Lathe .... http://www.toolpost.co.uk/pages/Chucks___Accessories/VersaChuck/versachuck.html ... scroll down backplates.
Cheers David
