Mahogany base with segmented Olive Ash and light colored Ash inserted in the rim.
This piece I made several years ago (2005) and at a local Craft Fair it won a competition, the judge was the late Tony Wilson who also
awarded the prize.

Not surprising it won, very good glue lines and a great combination of timbers, gets my vote too.

Hi Dave....It's a stunning piece....if I was up against work like that at a craft fair I'd pack up, go home and get some practice in!

Best piece of mahogany I've seen in a long time (I'm no lover of turning of the stuff).
62 segments (I counted) any reason or did it just work out that way somehow?

I didn't even know how many segments there were, It's just the way it worked out !
Thanks for the kind comments,
