Lovely piece...is this wood what our TransAtlantic cousins call buck-eye?
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

The wood is Horse chestnut burr, which was found on a council tip a few years ago.
It was very heavily spalted and after turning was coloured with a very light wash,
which just seems to pop the grain.

Tony,

I know who you are now. We spoke at the autumn Yandles Show while I was admiring your work.

Doubtful you will remember me, but I was the guy in the Bush (not cowboy) hat.

Bryan.

Bryan my memory went down hill when I got the bus pass.
But if you are going to the Spring Show I will keep a look out,
for a guy in a Bush Hat.
