I suspect its Brown Mallee as Coolibah tends to have small voids or cracks in it along with slightly different grain structure. But either way its a great piece of Burl ... err sorry Burr :) superbly finished.
The best way I know to remove the bark is by high pressure water, very messy tho'. ;D

This flipping bowl - sorry, trivet - has been to three different galleries, all of which enthused about it, but none of which sold it.....so we brought it home, stuck it in the shop and waited. Nothing! So a few days ago (when I posted the pics of the mini-refit in the shop) we gave it pride of place just inside the door and today it finally sold. I'm guessing that there's a lesson in there, somewhere!

Well that came out really well and can commiserate with you on the bark removal.  But it was all worth it, a fine piece and the legs  set it off so well, gets my vote.
