This a hollow form in a boring wood thus the embellishment. I used a variation of the sgrafitto technique which the upper layer is either scratched or cut to create the surface texture. In this case two layers of acrylic paint were applied and then the top layer burned to reveal the layer beneath.
8" x 4".  Sorry I haven't been around for a while.  Thanks for looking.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

it look like it took a while to apply all that texture, and looks like it was worth every minute. That is an excellent effect.
