Composite Bottle Stopper

This is one I've just finished.  Hopefully if received well, I'm going to start producing a lot more.  Comments?

Definitely like this one and hope we'll see a lot more to come. There is a touch here that says you've perfected casting, excellent floral detail within a simple form... quality .. set off in a nice presentation box.

Cheers for sharing.  David

I like this very smart, the only trouble is we don't have wine in a bottle long enough to use a stopper once opened  :)

I have to say I have never seen the need for them either  :)

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Did you cast the internal rose in the stopper or can you buy them like that - something we've never seen before.

I'll followup everybody's comment, I've turned a couple with beer barrel tops in oak, they don't sell well either - guess I know why.

But don't take that as a 'don't turn them', Christmas is coming and that will make someone a great present.

Thank you for your comments. The cast is in 2 parts. The black part was cast in a length of tube to about 60mm from the top. Once almost cured, the rose was set into the top. The clear acrylic was the poured slowly around so as to drive out any air pockets. I have to admit I was anxious about turning into the rose once on the lathe. Lots of stopping and checking.

In relation to selling, I've been quite lucky but would say the hand cast acrylic ones sell better than wood.
