As far as the composition is concerned; The rough root section is too overbearing for my liking and detracts from the turned item, had it been smaller and made more of a 'backdrop' to 'enhance or frame' the hollow form then yes but the first thing that draws the eye is the root then, it seems, as an after-thought the hollow form was placed there, in my opinion the hollow form should be the main attraction but it isn't, the root is too 'loud'
