Prototype goblet
« on: November 13, 2014, 12:49:42 PM »
This is in oak, naturally stained with lemon juice and pewter. It stands 300mm tall. The inside will eventually be coated for use. The pewter is from old mugs and ornaments melted down then recast and turned to shape and size.
C&C welcome as always

Very Very Nice I love the mixture of turned pewter and various different wood but think this dark with pewter is a beautiful combination.

Looking good so far, Pete. Room to improve the transition flow of the curve to the bowl and more defined detail with the stem and less to the pewter.

Overall you've the makings of yet another excellent form .. I've some Oak and Lemon .. now for the pewter and the time ..  ;D ..

Cheers   David

Pete,

another mixed media item, and this one as a goblet.

Overall I think it's an attractive item.

There is a slight recurve just before the lip and another at the bottom of the stem just above the pewter base ring, but as a prototype I know your eventual finished piece will address those and they won't be there.

Like Seventhdevil I'm not sure about the lower rim, if for no other reasons that any dribbles will pour all over you the next time you tip it up to drink again.
