Elm bowl

A recently finished Elm ( wych ) bowl abut 18" dia taken from a crotch which shows some excellent figuring , I am collecting and roughing out quite a few crotches recently , also done a few H F 's but not yet finished . ..Terry..

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Wych Elm at 18" oh you lucky person.
I love the flame through the platter, does it flash in the right light.
