Elm bowl

A recently finished Elm  ( wych ) bowl abut 18" dia  taken from a crotch which shows some excellent figuring , I am collecting and roughing out quite a few crotches recently , also done a few H F 's but not yet finished .   ..Terry..

Wow. Gorgeous bit of wood and a great looking bowl.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Really nice, well done. So many variations of grain, colour and figuring and you've shown it off to its best

Wych Elm at 18" oh you lucky person.

I love the flame through the platter, does it flash in the right light.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…
