Here's 4 little bowls, measuring between 6" and 8" diameter, and all around 2" overall height. I really enjoy turning this shape as it's so organic and allows a lovely sweeping action of the gouge to get the simple curve. I finish off with the lightest of passes with a heavy scraper and take a little 'fluff' off the surface just to remove any tool marks, then a light rub down from 240 to 600 does the trick. They're all finished with sanding sealer and carnauba.
Timbers, from 12:00 and going clockwise are yew, spalted ash, elm and almond.

These take me about 25 minutes each, from mounting through to sanding and I usually do a batch of 3 or 4 at a time, then about another 10 minutes to reverse each bowl and turn away the chuck point to leave a narrow foot.
C&C always welcome....Les
