An amazing company to deal with.

Hey folks.

Lew here with a company I'd highly recommend any turner who needs customer service and expertise with a smile.

Dave Martin is an experienced woodturner and specialist in turning tools, equipment and getting the right packag sorted for any customer. He prides himself not only on his expertise between his products and turning career but also in his interaction with customers, ensuring they get the best support possible.

I came across Dave through Robert Sorby and after researching, etc and having a great chat with dave, I've just placed my order for my Jet 4224 professional lathe and accessories including the bowl turning rig, face plates, Robert Sorby Patriot chuck and some extras.

My experience with dave is completely positive. From discussing the order, to getting in touch with the suppliers to order the equipment, to contact with me throughout the process and even a chance to get to know each other as visually disabled turners alike.

The amazing news is this... I ordered the lathe this morning, I received a message from dave in the afternoon and then a phone call from brimarc telling me they were going to bring the lathe tomorrow.. So tomorrow afternoon I'll be doing the grand unboxing of my dream lathe. Dave phoned me later this afternoon while I was in the workshop doing final preparations for the installation and we managed to sort out a few other things, pick each other's brains, etc.

For anyone who wants an amazing service or even more, a direct agent for JET through Brimarc, Robert Sorby, etc. This is the man to speak to.

If you can't get hold of him directly, he is a woodturner by trade so is most likely in the workshop or on the road.

His website is very accessible, informative and offers better prices on equipment, tools and supplies. He has a wealth of knowledge to share and I can't recommend or thank him enough.

(I'm not being payed to endorse Dave)

Be wary of the second link, http://www.creativewelshwoodturning.com, as my pc downloaded a virus (JS/Dropper) from it, the site was then blocked by my antivirus. Of course I am positive that Dave Martin has nothing to do with this, a lot of websites are being infected these days. JS/Dropper is a particularly nasty virus, as it has one purpose, to download more malware and threats, very soon after virus activation, your pc can be riddled with nasties,  leaving you very few options.
No doubt wherever the site is hosted will have self cleansing software which will kill the virus soon enough, but until it does, be aware.

John, thank you for the warning, odd thing..  Lew ask of this Company in another link, I had it bookmarked from before, but having lost them all, re-bookmarked it..  I've just taken to check if it's OK, and it's not coming up..   ??? ...   Am thinking not to try it again, is it the beginning of things...

David

Katchin:
no, it is not coming up for me either now, I guess the website detected it was infected and shutdown, hopefully.

I'm sorry about that folks. I'll speak to dave about this to let him know.

I don't get this issue as I'm a mac user so it doesn't handle exe code, etc. Please don't think badly of myself or dave, we will resolve the website error soon.
