I am very proud (and happy) that my piece has been accepted into Creativity in Construction exhibition for the AAW Symposium in Pittsburgh.
Old Blue,
The kettle was turned from Pear, the handle from mild steel. The kettles old knocked about enamel and sooty appearance as if used on a camp fire was achieved with an airbrush using acrylic paints. The finish to the enamel section of the kettle was an acrylic gloss.
I look forward to meeting many of you at the AWGB Seminar in August.  Thanks for looking Michael

That is incredibly life like. We had one just like it

I trust you will be bringing some of your work for the exhibition here.
Regards
Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Thanks for all your comments. I am hoping i can bring some of my work with me but anybody that has flown lately knows how hard the airliners make it. My tools alone nearly make up the weight allowance, and l do need to bring a change of underwear ;D   Michael.

Mike, if someone told me that was enameled tinplate I would not argue with them. You have created an amazing effect, even down to the scuffs and chips in the enamel.

In fact it looks so much like a real kettle, I'm having troubles commenting on it as a turning.

Wonderful.
