« on: April 01, 2015, 12:13:26 PM »
Hi all

This piece is 10 inches dia, turned thin and oiled, the wood came from a friends fire wood pile before it was all logged.

C&C welcome

Again that deceptive simple look that allows no mistakes. Bootiful.

There really is nothing to dislike with this. A classic shape turned to perfection.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Hi all

Thank you for all of your kind comments, they are much appreciated. This form is probably my favorite as I find it a relaxing yet challenging form to produce, they don't all turn out like this. :)

Thank you all again..

There's a scary eye looking at me out of that form and I love the idea that it's been photographed dead-centre.....it holds your eye in the centre of the form and pouts it all intoi balance. I could have saved a few key-strokes and just said it's a good focal point! Either way....it's a lovely, pleasing form to rest the eye on.

Thanks Les, I like to play around with the photography to get as much out of it as possible.

Hi Mark.

I have looked at this one several times and for me it is not my favorite shape of the hollow forms you make.
One thing I did find is that if I move away from the screen it looks better after about fifty feet it starts to look quite nice.

Oh Come on George, at 50 feet you couldn't see the house let alone the screen in it.   ???
