after woodturning for around eight yrs,I thought I was getting quite good at it,then I joined my first club and found I wasn`t really after all, using the tools wrong etc,not sanding well enough, but they were very good at pointing me in the right direction,so when you feel able to post some of your work online, don`t be afraid, people will help you with advice etc;the same as they do at clubs, online forums for the most part are a good place to see what`s out there,oh and if you can get some back copies of woodturning magazine, they`ve just done/still doing, a series on how to use tools with close up pics of entry points of the turning and directions of cut etc;or if you can borrow some of the mags of a fellow woodturner in your area,it will be a good start, cheers,
Eric.
