Elm bowl...
« on: June 15, 2015, 03:04:59 PM »
Had an excellent day with Mark Hancock recently.  As I suspected, I had much needed correcting.  In fact, it would be fair to say that almost every aspect of what I was doing needed at least tweaking and in some cases completely changing.  It's resulted in a bit of a few steps back while I get used to the techniques, which is a little frustrating, but also very rewarding as I see them coming together producing an altogether much better result.  Best of all.....I came away NOT thinking I needed to spend a small fortune on tools & equipment!

This bowl wasn't done on the day.....it is the first I've properly completed with the changed techniques.  It is of course elm(what else from me!) about 6" x 2.5"

Mark Hancock - http://www.markhancock.co.uk/ - he works out of Pershore in Worcestershire.

Strangely for me, I like the foot on this, it sits well under the bowl and despite being so obvious, looks comfortable there.

Nicely done.
