Time to clown around
« on: June 18, 2015, 08:46:42 PM »
I had some time on my hands so I thought I would clown around.

Made from bits and pieces that I had laying around (I don’t throw anything away) It is 12” tall. Wood used Ash, Holly, Sapele, Oak the others I am not sure about

Thank you all. The idea was not mine but a gent called Robbie I just forgot his name when I posted. I have changed a couple of things on him. I still enjoyed making it

That is the sort of thing I can see on an executive's office shelves, just for the fun it creates on first sight.

I think it's great, love it.

I like that.  :)

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Love the fun of that - Ideal christening present? Regarding the clock did you upcycle and old one or just get the workings and turn the casing for it?  The reason I ask I have been approached to make a clock for a 50th present and I can get the hands and quartz but not the full kit with the glass and face. I could always buy a cheap clock and use that I suppose. Cheers
