Segmented tazza
« on: June 29, 2015, 10:47:10 PM »
And now for something completely different...

I started this a long time ago, and then left it unfinished, because I wasn't happy with the alignment of the segments. I am still not happy with that, but as a first segmented piece it could have gone a lot worse.
The wood used is damson, alder and some indian hardwood where I don't know the name.
C&C most welcome.

Cleverly done and well put together but the design/shape could be more pleasing, it's a little square and lacking detail.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!

I am so happy just to get some feedback. For a while I thought: it can't be that ugly that nobody wants to say anything.
Most of the shape was predetermined by what had been done 7 months ago, as far as I remember even before I took tuition from Mark and George. You do have a point, a little more detail would probably add.  I also think, looking at it now, that the foot is too wide.
If I ever work up the perseverance to do make another segmented piece, I'll give this consideration. Thank you!.
