Coloured Spalted Sycamore Bowl

Hi

My latest from the Workshop completed at the weekend.
It measures 185mm x 70mm, coloured with Spirit Stains, Royal Blue, Blue, Purple, Red and Yellow, sanding sealed then polished.

Very nice Mark are the markings inside natural or did you create them.

Hi George

Natural spalting, i thought it had gone too far, but was recoverable with Sanding Sealer then re-cut.

It doesn't work for me, too many colours going on for my taste, but it looks to be a good quality piece with amazing grain and I'm sure it will be to many peoples' taste.

I quite like it, although for my personal taste it's slightly on the chunky side. I'd love to see a picture taken from underneath, showing all the colours, as they don't really show that much in the side views. Nice idea with the black groove around the top.

I'd have prefered to see more of the colour on the outside. The blending between them looks to be very well done and with little brown (the colour of all mixed together colours).
