Hi Paul

Good to meet you on the course, enjoyed both days and this piece turned out well (excuse the pun) not the easiest piece of oak to turn but it finished beautifully. Hope to catch up in the future.

Paul, I willl give an unbiased view as I know George  and Mark were your tutors.
I think they have taught you well and you should be proud of this piece. Oak is not the easiest of woods to turn and this looks like you have managed a good finish.
Well done.

That looks really nice, and a change to see a differently proportioned ginger jar.....it would be nice to see a couple of views from other angles.

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Paul,

it does not fit my mental image of a Ginger Jar, but it's not a shape I've considered much beyond Antiques Roadshow.

I does look a very attractive lidded form and as Mark notes it's oak, the pale colour makes me think it's American white oak, which can be a bit splintery to turn, so well done on a well turned and finished form.
