Hi all

I have not posted anything for a while so here are some recently finished pieces.

All turned from un-seasoned wood to finish with danish oil and buffed once dry.

110 dia x 150 high

160 dia x 140 high

170 dia x 120 high

160 dia x 130 high

same as above different camera angle

240 dia x 150 high

same as above, different camera angle.

An impressive selection, Mark. It's always difficult to be objective, based on single photographs, but I favour the second of the two open vessels, and the fourth of the hollow forms.

Lovely  work as always Mark ....  nice  spalting  as well, no need for texturing/ decoration  etc on these  ,  no hollow forms in yew ?.. most  HFs you produce are of this shape ( and very nice indeed ) but was wondering if you ever make more upright or squat forms or natural edged  also ?  ( just curious ! )    also curious as to what grade abrasive you finish with ...........Terry ..

Beautiful work as always Mark. You are a master at making what looks like a simple shape just right. Not as easy as you make it seem.

Hi all

Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated.

Terry

Thank you. Yes I make other shapes but often don't get time to photograph before they go to outlets. Very rarely do I make natural edge, mostly only at demo's not really my cup of tea. This type of form is one of my fav's and sells well so I make lots of them.

Some have been made of Yew but I don't post pictures of all my work, but have some more being made, in walnut and sycamore too so will post if I get time to take pictures of them.

Abrasive, depends on what type of piece I am making, if I am texturing I don't use abrasive but generally 320 grit is as low as I go as the buffing then removes anything else. The Yew ones here are yet to me buffed so will be more satin than matt when finished.

Thank you all again.

Thank You For Posting These Mark ...... It is as always a pleasure to view your work..... If we were really pushed
to choose it would be 5 & 6 but only for the spalted pattern...... they are all striking in there own right.
    Kind Regards

Thanks Steve, much appreciated. I certainly prefer the fuller form when the grain has so much to offer.
