No Sanding
« on: February 07, 2016, 10:15:26 PM »
Well one of those days went through the side of a hollow form so rather than burn it I had a play with some shavings and metal effect gold paints

C & C's welcome

Come on guys, this is what happens when people experiment, and without experiment there would be no progress. I have to admit that I actually agree with George, it does look like it's been rolled in something unsavoury and then covered in gold. Not for me, I am afraid.

However, I do applaud Ed's unfailing spirit to go where no turner has gone before.

Fear not, Fuzzy....Ed knows us well enough not to take offence at a bit of gentle leg pulling. Nobody could ever rightly accuse either George or myself of not being in favour of a bit of experimentation.

Stick on few Limpets and call it Rock Pool by the Sea and it will sell for a fortune.

Cheers Martin.

Ed I applaud you experimentation and I think the reason it does not look as good as you would like it look is because you used the wrong colour gold, a brighter gold would make it more appealing.

This needs a 'Like' but we don't have the button.

But seriously, yes it's an experiment, I have seen something like it before but not painted afterwards. As I've said before, don't stop there, see where it takes you.
