Oak Bowl 11
« on: May 13, 2016, 07:17:37 PM »
This is the second of these bowls that I have made the one I made yesterday was 10" x 3" this one is 13" x 3" quite a lot more work.
I have made a wider rim on this one I think the wider rim or the narrower rim both work for me.
C & C as always

Of the two I prefer the other one purely because the wood shows through more. This one comes across as heavy looking to me though the split is appealing LOL. Seriously both look good but the first is my preference.

Great effect on these pieces George after looking at them all I think I like the wider rim, it show off the work that gone it to them more.

Do you use the Arbortech Mini Carver

All the best

hi George
I like the look of both but with the rim on this one flowing away from the actual bowl I think as you told me earlier that it detracts the eye away from the beauty of the timber. the smaller rim to me is the best of the 2 . I like the burning in of the over all bowl as this sets of the quality of the timber you have used.

George,

I'm really drawn to this, the wide rippled edge (even if black) gives it a feeling of a flower bloom.
