Not so happy with this bowl, there was a shatter line through the timber when I'd hollowed the bowl section nearly deep enough. I had to flood the crack with thin super-glue to get it to hold together and get a reasonable finish.
Size is 8" x 2¾” (200mm x 70mm)
C&C welcomed.

It seems to have turned out well, despite the need for the ca....those are really well-defined spalt lines.

Beautiful wood, well turned and finished. Only critique (whether you want it or not) is that the inside shape should match the outside. Outside you have a gentle rounded profile whereas the inside is much squarer with a flat bottom.

That is a nice bowl well held together and rescued. I have just spent this afternoon rough turning 5 spalted pieces like this and still have another 6 or 7 to do.

Thanks Guy's,
Pete, you are right of course, but I held off turning much more out of the inside, just in case the shattering went too much deeper, so the base is a little thicker than you'd normally like.
