Ideas Wanted
« on: October 16, 2016, 09:39:36 PM »
A leader of the local Sea Cadets asked me if I could make some training aids from some of their old oars. What he wants is some Cans and Cones, Cardinals and Leading marks to teach the members how to sail by them on a table-top demonstration. That's easy?

I can also see some of the blades, which are too flat to turn, cleaned up and re-varnished turned into presentations and awards, but what else could I do with the blades or oars lengths for the cadets.

Struggling for ideas, any thoughts received gratefully.

Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!

How about small hitching posts for practicing knots on? A revolving arrow on a stand as an indicator of wind direction during table top sailing?

John,

I like them both.

We had thought about Belaying Pins through a board, but were not sure as they have 'other' uses! But the hitching rail works just as well.

Thanks.
