Are there any of you out there that live in the Valleys of South Wales? I live in Merthyr Tydfil and would love to join a local club. So many advise you to do this but I have failed to find anything within a reasonable distance.

Start your own you would probably be surprised how many turners are in your area

Have you checked the club map on our website?
http://www.awgb.co.uk/club-map/
I think your nearest club is Crow Valley at around 20 miles.
Or, as George suggests, you could see if there were enough other turners in your area who would want to start a club. The AWGB can help if that's what you want to do.

Not all clubs are members of the AWGB so look around some of the other Woodturning forums and ask the question as some one may know of one

Hi Pammary55 -
Crow Valley Woodturners
are in Cwmbran, we have a couple of members that are members of Cardiff club and Bridgend club. Go onto our website and send an e-mail to our secretary and I am sure he will put you in touch or come along one evening and have a chat. You won't get a reply now before Christmas but Jim is very helpful. -- Julian

there`s quite a few unaffiliated clubs on the AWGB club map on the site, might worth looking at to see if there are any on the map near you that way.
