Playing Again
« on: January 18, 2017, 04:05:37 PM »
Have not done any Piercing for a very long while, so thought I would try incorporating Piercing with Tonys Turned
Fractal Pyro. This is only a trial run it will be on the fire next week...... The wood is London Plane and is 10" in height.

That's quite an effect....stunning.

p.s. don't put it on the fire; it deserves to live!
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

I like this very much especially in the first picture with the light shining down and showing the colour on the inside making the piercing really show to the full effect

Thank You Very Much ..Les.. and .. Derek
Did try a few different colours inside using painted paper , Red seemed to be the most appropriate due to the colour
of the wood. I think the wood is a little too dark so  Tony is going to bleach and burn another one, so I can have
    another go.
    Kind Regards di and Tony

Thank You Ed..... Have been wanting to try this idea for a while now , so when Tony did his last Fractal decided to
see what the effect would be like looking inside the piece but still keeping the outside interesting, and also getting
well needed practice at piercing .  :)
  Kind Regards di and Tony

Thank You Andy...... Originally the idea came from a friends Tiffany Lamp ( leaded glass )but was not sure how it
would transfer and adapt onto wood ... Think it might  be worth pursuing and see where it takes us.
