Monkey Puzzle Bowl

I was fortunate enough to be given quite a large amount of monkey puzzle recently.
This is the first piece I've turned (no knots in this one) approx. 9" x 2" lacquer finish.

Apologies for the photography :-\

I nearly didn't bother to look at this because I really dislike those monkey puzzle bowls that have the huge knots in them.....but I'm glad that I persevered and had a look.....I like it, although I do feel that the foot is a little heavy.

p.s. .... I'm assuming that this wood was seasoned before you started.

No, it was actually rough turned wet, microwave dried and then remounted to finish. I found that it was extremely stable and hardly moved at all !
The only issue was the central pith (around 10mm dia) that is very fibrous, almost like sisal string which I attempted to stabilise with CA. With hindsight it would probably have been better to remove it and fill with epoxy/metal mix or timber plug.
