« on: January 28, 2017, 08:08:34 PM »
I have just seen the Jet 3520b for sale at a dicounted price.  Has anyone got any background info as to,why, is there a new version about to be launched?

I Think Axminster are dropping Jet and selling off the stock they hold at reduced prices .
They are now selling Powermatic ( Same lathes different colour )
Just my thoughts

they have not yet listed powermatic as a brand on their site? how did you find this out?

so far as i know it only became jet when the manufacture turned to china for cheapness.

i thought to carry the label powermatic it needed to be made in USA.

I got in touch with Axminster, they won`t be selling the jet 3520B/4224B/2222B lathes anymore,as a mater of interest Jet won`t be selling them either,as they are all Powermatic lathes rebranded,in the future Axminster will be selling them as Powermatic, but don`t know when as yet.

The strange thing is my lathe is branded Powermatic and was bought from Axminster before they changed the name to Jet. A case of travelling back to the future!!!
