No turning in this one
« on: May 28, 2017, 06:11:29 PM »
Recently there was a thread on here about filling cracks and crevices. Pete used glass Frit and it started me thinking about other ways of using Frit so I asked Pete where he got it from and a few pointers how to use it.
In his reply to me he said I expect you will do something fancier than me so I took this as a bit of a challenge LOL.
There is no turning in this but I think it is worth a look.
This piece is three feet high and six inches by three inches made from Beech.
As always C & C welcome.

Regards George

George,

I think we'll forgive you posting a piece or 'Not Turned' work.

This really stands out up (pun intended) and shouts 'Look at me.'

I hope, with Pete's permission, you'll share this technique with us in the club sometime.

Refreshingly different....have you an idea of where it might stand, George. In the average home setting, with this sat on the floor, most rooms wouldn't be big enough to get a good view of it, but I can imagine it being displayed in an entrance foyer to a swish set of offices....it would make quite an impression.

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Thank you Pete and Les

It is three feet high les so would look OK in an ordinary lounge I think.
