I spent a very enjoyable day demonstrating for visitors to Turn East, hosted by Norfolk Woodturners Society on Saturday. It was a pretty "full on" sort of day with four sessions of 75 minutes each with tea breaks and an excellent lunch in between. There were several trade stands in the main hall as well as the four demonstrators for visitors to see.
I organised my day with a sort of progression from a natural edge bowl from a split log, to a natural edged branchwood bowl. I followed that with a natural edged branchwood piece into end grain and finished with a burr. Both branchwood pieces lost their bark which was a shame as it was quite a striking detail. The burr had some punky timber in the side which became a hole !
