I have a big board of sycamore that I finally got to chopping a bit off and turning. The piece is pretty big (approx. 450mm diameter) so I thought I'd try leaving a very wide rim and have a go at some walnut inlay to add some interest. Reasonably pleased with the results, although I was torn between trying a geometric pattern (which I ended up doing) or trying something more abstract. If I try another, I might go with an abstract design, but thought I'd stick to something fairly simple for a first try. C&c welcome.
