Hi all, me again.
This ones Maple and sapele. 577 pieces. It went a little wrong near the top. I think I know why. I'll keep trying.

CS, WOW .... I don't see as to where you consider you went wrong, other than the top could have been a solid ring of sapele, it's a beautiful form. Well done.

David,
I went wrong near the top where it narrows. I got the gaps slightly out of alignment but it only shows on one side. I think the whole thing came just a little loose down the chuck end following the sanding of each ring ready for gluing up the next. Lesson learnt. Check the jaws are tight and everything is secure on long projects.

I feel like I'm expecting a djinn to appear out of it - I found the error but only because your comment made me look for it.
How did it work, the Maple and Sapele have completely different densities.
