I have posted about moisture meters being cheap and sometimes useful items, was in Lidl to buy fish fingers earlier and spotted them in the current crop of tool sales, couldn't see a price, but if you don't have one and happen to be in Lidl take a look I suspect they will be cheap , and while it's not an accurate guide as timber is timber! it can be a handy thing to have in your pocket when out buying timber.
